Have you checked for overheating?

Any onscreen error message?

Does your system meet the specs for the games you are playing? What games?

Check Event Viewer for errors which might help diagnosing what the problems might be?

How To Use Event Viewer - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/40108/how-to-use-event-viewer/

How much RAM installed?

What video card is installed?

How can a card be loose? It sits in a slot...are you referring to the screw securing it to the case?
