Well, about a month ago, i got the copyright violation virus and im still having a bit of a problem removing it. For starters, when i start my windows xp laptop, i would have just a blank screen with the copyright violation on it. I would then go to taskmanager, scroll down to apmanager.exe and click end processes. The copyright violation would then disappear leaving me with a blank screen. After that, on taskmanager, i would go to new task and put in explorer.exe...now i'm guessing im having registry problems because the open with...window would pop up and i have to search for the explorer.exe file(browse through my comp.) Once i find windows explorer, i click open and i would get my desktop back. I MUST DO THIS EVERY STEP WHENEVER I START UP MY LAPTOP! As for the rundll32.exe problem, i can't change the volume, change the date, or uninstall programs (basically access control panel) without C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe Application not found. popping up. Also, if i want to start up a program ex: photoshop cs4 or firefox, every time the open with....would pop up and i have to browse through my comp. for it. EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Is there a way to fix up my laptop? Remember for just about any program i must look for it to actually open it.

THANKS! :flowers:

Hello I think this Guide will help.

You need to do all the steps.
Please follow our Removal Guide here How to remove the AP Manager or Copyright violation alert Ransomware (Uninstall Guide)
You will move to the Automated Removal Instructions

After you completed that, post your scan log here, let me know how things are.
The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
