Hi: burgess66 win98se OS
This my is first post, here's what I need now is for you guy's & girl's tell how to get my A drive to be the first in the boot guery, I install a program that using the cd ROM to run from & it change the boot order, I've been in the cmos by pressing the delete key & the floppy is the first in line but when I put my boot disk in & boot up it query's the cd ROM first then the floppy & about 2 second's then go on & boot's, can't remember what key for the bios, I've got this question on yahoo answers which I'm a member for about 3 mouths, & before you ask I don't have a 98se cd. The tech that reinstall my 98se copyed the setup to the cab files on my D drive, so I could set it up from inside it self, just need to know how to activate it. You I got hit with the Jupiter Virus & you know what it does, but I worked my way out if it, with an article from bleepingcomputers on Hijack This, that saved me, it had link's to go to fix the problems & it worked I had my 98se running good, but this happen, so I need your HELP Please PS do have a SONY VAIO OS XP with IE8 & DSL It's smokin hot.

is the floppy bootable?
i mean is it formatted properly and okay?

There is a section of your BIOS screen that is titled BOOT

Goe to this screen and look for the boot order.

Re-arrange it so drive A Legacy Floppy is the first drive on the list.

Once you have done this press the F10 key and Exit and SAVE.

Put the bootable floppy in drive A: if its bootable it should boot from it.

There is a section of your BIOS screen that is titled BOOT

Put the bootable floppy in drive A: if its bootable it should boot from it.

Exactly what program are you referring to here?
That could be extremely important in this situation

Also remember that floppy drives are notorious for getting dirty,
You might try blowing it out with a little compressed air

yes dirty and defective due to magnetics.

So you want to install Windows 98 SE again, wiping the older installation ?
