Hi Folks..

This is my 13 yr old Daughters Laptop..Acer Extensa 5230E.

Lately Its been freezing and getting a blue screen with all this info and a message stating "Kernal_Data_Inpage_error..

I did two virus scans with spybot and malware removal..both came up with "mywebsearch" which I (think) deleted.

I deleted spybot because I thought it was slowing down the system..

I also ran chkdsk/f/r and it fixed any issues AFAIK.

BSOD.txt File..

From http://www.aumha.org/a/stop.htm:

0x0000007A: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR
A page of kernel data was not found in the pagefile and could not be read into memory. This might be due to incompatible disk or controller drivers, firmware, or hardware.

Chkdsk /r is a good tool for some things...I would not rely on it to indicate a failing/bad hard drive. The hard drive manufacturers make a diagnostic for checking the functionality of a hard drive.

I suggest that do two things:

a. Check Event Viewer for any errors indicating a problem with any drive/disk.

b. Run the appropriate manufacturer's diagnostic (long test, not short).

The second parameter on most of your BSODs is 0xc0000185. This indicates a possible hard drive problem, IMO.

I don't know what you are saying.

You ran the appropriate hard drive diagnostic?

You checked Event Viewer for errors, as specified?

My apologies for not being understandable. When I to ran the diagnostic, a message came up stating it couldn't locate the end user agreement. This happened after I put the image(diagnostic tool) onto a blank disc(CD-R) went into the BIOS and got the laptop to run from the disc on start up.

No problem , what diagnostic did you download? Who's the manufacturer of your hard drive?

It sounds to me as if you did not burn the .iso file correctly...it's a little tricky and I failed to provide instructions.
