Well I had the atapi.sys virus, which redirected google and gave me popups.. and every now and then, after half-fixing the issue on here, it started saying "Ie cannot display the webpage" OR " The address is not valid" and changes the URL to \\\...

Im not sure if this is a virus, or its just a missing file..

but any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried repairing or updating IE to the most current version?

It's IE8.. so as far as I know it's the latest safe version.
I've tried to restore IE to its defaults, but it made no difference.. let me check to see if repairing it'll help

Your computer may be not totally clean...

With the information you have provided I believe you will need help from the malware removal team. I would like you to start a new thread and post a DDS log HERE and include a link to this thread. Please make sure that you read the information about getting started before you start your thread.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient. Help is on the way!

Member has been deemed clear in this reply: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...t&p=1724634 As of Apr. 20, 2010.

However they did not reply to the malware helper to finish the log.
