well i finally upgraded to a newer computer then my old p4 and wanted to know if i got a good deal or not. the specs of the new PC are 3.5 GB DDR2-800 ram, 500 GB western digital hard drive, Intel Pentium d 2.80 ghz socket 775 dual core cpu with emt64 enabled, win7 ult x64 and an pcie-x16 geforce 8600gt with 512mb ram. i know its no i7 system but it is way faster then what i was using. o and its a dell  but eh its fast also says it can be upgraded to a core2 with support for 1066MHz fsb payed $100 for it because it has an ugly case. but hey just because somethings ugly dosent mean it wont work  windows experience rating of 4.9

you cant even get a copy of windows professional for 100 bucks, so ya Id say thats a good deal. Definetly faster then what you were using before. My linux box us using a 3 ghz Pentium D for socket 775, and I have to say, theyre good solid CPUs. No, theyre not the best out there, but Theyre far from bad either.

If it runs good and does what you want, it is money well spent. BTW, you can get Windows for free if you are a student and your school is a part of MSDNAA. Though I'm not sure if this is the case here....
