ok, i decided to try aol for the first time and i hated it. i thought i had deleted it about 2 months ago. a few days ago my computer was acting up so i ran my spyware remover and caught 46 bugs. yesterday, AOL had placed an install icon on my desktop. i now use Netzero for my provider and i had a message saying my netzero was corrupted to re-install so i did but upon reboot aol promted me to re-try aol and started the installition screen. twice i cancled it and it came back up so i ran ad-aware again, getting 20 more hits. i deleted all the bugs last night and today my netzero is doing ok but i think its only because first thing today i ran the ad-aware and caught 2 bugs on my register key before starting any applications.

I posted this same description on another board and a kind soul directed me here to see if there is something seriously wrong with this situation... thanks for your time! i really apperciate it!

 --Gypsy

and here my log

MOST IMPORTANT: I highly recommend that you go to Windows update and install all "Critical Updates and Service Packs" ASAP!. This will patch numerous security holes in Internet Explorer and Windows. Updating your Windows and Internet Explorer will help protect your computer from the malware that is on the Internet. Malware takes advantage of the vulnerabilities of an unpatched Windows and Internet Explorer. Please go to
Microsoft Windows Update Site to get the critical updates.

Please do not install Service Pack 2 because some hijacks interfere with the installation of Service Pack 2. When we're finished cleaning your computer we highly recommend installing SP2. Click HERE
or
It's a very large download, so if you're on dial up, order a free CD HERE

After installing all the Microsoft updates, we can take a look at another HijackThis log to make sure that everything is as it should be and to make sure that all the malware was deleted according to plan.

You are using eAcceleration Stop-Sign which is on Spyware Warrior’s rogue anti-spyware list. Please read this. I would recommend that you uninstall it and replace it with one of these. There are a few available for free that have excellent reputations:

An anti-virus program is an essential part of PC security and you do not appear to have one running on your system. There are a few available for free that have excellent reputations:

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition

Avast

AntiVir Personal Edition Classic

A Firewall is an essential part of computer security and you do not appear to have one running on your system. It is important that you have a firewall in addition to the Windows SP2 firewall. There are a few available for free that appear to be good and easy to use:

Zone Alarm Free Firewall

Kerio Free Firewall

Sygate Personal Firewall

Outpost Firewall Free
