I got the rogue antivirus virus Desktop Security 2010 this week. I used recommendations from BC to download rkill and Malwarebytes. I was able to scan my system and remove infected files. HOWEVER:

When conducting follow up scans with AVG9.0 free it detects the following files:

C:\System Volume Information\Whistler\svchost.exe
Trojan horse downloader.Generic9.BUIV

C:\System Volume Information\Whistler\smss.exe
Trojan horse downloader.Generic9.BUGQ

I have tried turning off System Restore and restarting. Then turning it back on and restarting. AVG still detects the files. I've even tried running the AVG scan with system restore turned off with no luck. Any suggestions on how I can get rid of these files? I am afraid to connect to the internet until they are gone.

Thank you.
