Hi,

i recently got infected with the Anitspyware soft malware and got rid of it following the instructions. When i start my computer normally it works for a while but then crashes, First programs stop responding then the cursor freezes and i cant do nothing except turn the computer off and on. During the time of running the scans i could leave a scan running in normal mode for some hours but as soon as i clicked to save the scan or clicked start etc the computer would start locking up

I posted in the am i infected section and was told after some scans the the computer is clean of malware ( topic is here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/315124/antispyware-soft-infection/ )

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
K33ba

Hi .

Let's try this:

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html.

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When scanning is done, Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items. Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

System manufacturer and model?

How much RAM installed?

How large is C: (system) partition and how much free space on C: right now?

I don't see anything that points in a given direction.

General info re your errors:

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

0x00000019: BAD_POOL_HEADER
A pool header issue is a problem with Windows memory allocation. Device driver issues are probably the msot common, but this can have diverse causes including bad sectors or other disk write issues, and problems with some routers.

At this point...all I can suggest is running a diagnostic on your hard drive...and then the RAM.

Before doing either...you can take a look in Event Viewer. Pay attention only to items noted as errors. To see supporting detail for any line item, double-click that item.

How To Use Event Viewer - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/40108/how-to-use-event-viewer/

About the only other thing I can consider...malware or removal of same...may result in damage to key system files. About the only way to check for this would be to run the sfc /scannow command or do a repair install of XP.
