I have a similar problem, let me explain:

I 'am using Vista, I made anerror when trying change partitions of my hard drive using partionmagic, and the result i've lost one partition of my HD. and when I tried to restore it I loste the bootable partition (C:). When i try to boot from an XP CD, I get the bios error message (blue background with white text) asking me to run FDISK, but I can't do that since I can't boot at all.

I have no recovery disk of vista.

Best regards

Contact your computer manufacturer. They'll send you recovery DVDs. Depending on your computer maker, they will do it for free, for shipping costs, or for other small fee.
