hello

I was recently infected with the Desktop Security 2010 rogue program. I have removed that issue by running scans of MBAM and Dr.Web;s CureIt in safe mode.
Both scans picked up various other trojans which they say have now been deleted.
Before scanning i could not access windows defender, or windows security centre, and automatic updates had been turned off.

Dr Web has picked up program.popcaploader and a backdoor program, it has not been able to move, cure or delete them.

My computer is currently running at a reasonable speed but not at its normal speed, it is also unable to connect to the internet and AVs wont update and no browser can connect, i know my network is fine because my laptop and ps3 are fine to connect to it.

I am willing to provide any logs asked for to remove this pain in the ass :flowers:

Any help would be appreciated

Hello, We need a deeper look. Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.

Hi
thanks for your quick reply
I now seem to have a bigger issue....i cant turn the computer on :|

the computer seem fixed after 4 long scans and I decided to reboot to see any effects.
the computer starts up, then asks me if i want to run in safe mode, last know good config etc etc
and whatever choice i choose, attempts to load windows xp then flashes a bsod and reboots.

Any ideas? I have my windows xp disk if we need it for a recovery or whatever

thankyou

Let's see if making a rescue disk will stave off a reformat.
