I went into my videos folder and discovered that all but one video has disappeared! I did a search of my entire computer for them, but they are nowhere to be found. After running Norton and Malwarebytes', there aren't any viruses or malware on my computer.

What are some possible causes for this? I know this is pretty vague, but I can provide any info necessary to help track down the cause.

what media player do you use? If it's Itunes that could be the culprit!

my only other suggestions are that they might be hidden, select the 'tools' option at the top of an open window, then 'folder options' then 'view' and then check the 'show hidden files' option. When you've done that do another search.

There's a search program called 'everything' that's a 100x better than the microsoft one.. it's here

http://www.voidtools.com/

And that fails maybe you could try a search with a file recovery program, http://www.piriform.com/recuva
it's not the best one but worth a try

good luck

The void tools worked, found all the missing files!

I have no idea how it happened, but the entire folder moved to another random file.

Thanks again for your help, I definitely appreciate it!
