Hi
I am not a developer; however, I'm posting here,(in desperation!) as I can't find any help for my problem elsehere: now, to the problem! For no apparent reason, a message has apeared on my screen, it's a panel, approx 5" X 2" size with the header "Microsoft. NET Framework, on the top of the blue bar surround, and nothing I have been able to do will remove it.

The message reads "An unhandled exception has occured in a component in your application. Click continue and application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Beneath that message, to the left and right, there are two small buttons labeled, on the left one, "Details", and on the right one, "Continue". When the left button is clicked, this is the message I see:
(Pasted below)

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

(END)

When I then click on the "Continue" botton nothing happens! However, when attempt to get rid of this maddening panel, by dragging it to one side, I find that there is another "panel" underneath it, with the header "Document viewer". Can someone please help me to get back to normality? :thumbsup:

Here is what I would do, and bear in mind I am not much of an expert. Open your control. Add or remove programs and tick the box to show updates
I would uninstall all netframework updates and then manually go to MS updates and check for Net framework/updates and download them again.
I am guessing there is a corrupt file somewhere.

Let's try cleaning up your .NET framework...

Download and run this file. It will remove the .NET framework from your computer so that we can reinstall it later.

After running this cleanup tool, it will ask you to reboot. Please do so.

Next, download and install this file. This will reinstall the .NET framework onto your computer.

After another reboot, download and install this file. This will update the .NET framework to what it should be.

Three months later...simply click the .exe file which is reflected when unzipping...then follow the prompts to run the tool.
