The easiest way is to go to your Add/Remove programs an uninstall it. There are some newer variants that don't work quite that easily though, and you may need some guidance from the HijackThis team. One thing you shouldn't do is to just try deleting it, because you run the very real risk of breaking your Internet connection...without going into too much detail, it hooks into a very important process necessary for Internet usage. Aither Adaware or Spybot will remove it also (I can't remember which one, although it wouldn't hurt to run both of them anyway.)

I tried to look in the add/remove folder but its not there. I also ran an Adaware scan and Microsoft Spyware scan. Both found newdotnet and deleted it but it would come right back. What should I do?

Try cCleaner to uninstall it. If you have never used this program be carefull not to modify your registry when exploring it.
Good luck.
