My friend is at a loss. He has been trying to help me with this problem. Any game that uses graphics, besides certain small programs. Recently for example, I played Bejeweled Twist, a small PopCap game and it just BSoD's. Well, XP style but I hope you get the idea. What makes things worse is that it keeps BSoD'ing unless I manually turn off the tower for a while, then turn it back on.

This is all I have. I also have a minidump file that has this error.

STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x01BA6CC0,0x00000002,0x00000000,0xF9B2F8E6)
ALCXWDM.SYS - Address F9B2F8E6 base at F9AB5000, DateStamp 48d9a891

I have used HP's website to update my sound and video drives, but that didn't even help.

If it's not too bad for me to show my personality, I will royally crown anyone who could help me.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Reset your pagefile. Go to Start...Run...and type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter.

Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Performance Settings button
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Virtual Memory Change button
Write down all of the settings so that you can restore them later.
Click on each volume (drive) and then click "No paging file" for each one.
Then click on OK to exit the dialogs
Then reboot - it'll be gone then.

To restore it - go back in and re-enter the settings that you removed.

Let us know if this helps.

I tried it but the virtual memory kept saying it was too low for ANY application. I was relieved that I could even open my computer's properties after clearing some 'important' things from Task manager (tablet components etc.)

At what point did you receive this error message?

I have recieved this warning in a message before my icons showed up. It had a circle with red X's. After that, some automatically starting programs did the same things. Some that explained problems with ram adresses. It seems as though that I have a lot of virtual memory as it is. It was next to impossible to use my PC without getting rid of some processes to re-set my paging file.

So did you reset the pagefile as per my instructions in post #4?

Yes I did. 288MB initially, 576MB at its peak.

That is a small amout of RAM to be running XP.

After you reset the pagefile has there been any improvement?

Lot's. It returned to normal when I did it. But I am assuming that if I start the games up it will BSoD again. Should I try to see?
