This is a strange problem I have been having for the last couple of weeks. I've googled it but can't find any one else having this problem. I have looked through the Event logs but everything is normal.

After a restart, locking my computer using Ctrl - Alt - Del or Win - L works normally and the screen saver screen appears, hiding my open windows and background along with the "Computer Locked" window.

But after a few days, each time I lock the PC, only the "Computer Locked" window appears and all my open windows are visible behind it. Then I'll have problems with windows not appearing correctly, I'll have to restart Windows and everything is back to normal for a few days.

Every heard of this? Any ideas? I'm running XP Pro with SP3 and the latest updates, including current graphics drivers.

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Have you tried running chkdsk /r and then defragging your system partition?
