I wasn't use if this goes here. Sorry in advance if I am incorrect.

I would like to update my computer/ clean it for viruses etc. Basically everything possible for a full system maintenance without actually doing a system restore to factory settings.

I'm not any good with system maintenance, as I have never done it before, but can someone guide me through the processes?

What OS and what Service Packs if any installed? Also what AV and malware tools if any installed. Once those items have been answered we can get this topic moved to the proper forum.
