Looks to me like you have a couple of problems.

STOP 24 errors...involve NTFS file system. Some of those may be repaired, some may not. I would try running the chkdsk /r command on the system volume and see what effect that might have.

STOP 24 errors may also result because of hard drive problems, but not necessarily.

Your install of McAfee seems to evidence problems. I suggest uninstalling the current version totally...then reinstalling and updating.

After running chkdsk /r and uninstalling/reinstalling McAfee...I would run BlueScreenView again. I would only pay attention to new .dmp files.

OK, the farthest I was able to get was add/remove programs and selecting Mcafee. The Mcafee window came up but not completely. I waited for it to load, but got a BSOD .

Is there another way to uninstall Mcafee?

Also, the computer has been able to start up better after it's had a long time to cool off. If I try booting it up right away it keeps rebooting. So could it be a hardware failure like a RAM chip or something else? I did clean it out when it started acting up to remove dust and filth from around the fan and elsewhere.

I did manage to run a chkdsk /r and it seemed to come out OK. There was a BSOD on rebooting after it was done, however.

Is it OK to run the McAfee uninstaller tool without going through the add/remove process first? I noticed that step one of the instructions for using that say to do the add/remove first.
