OK, the farthest I was able to get was add/remove programs and selecting Mcafee. The Mcafee window came up but not completely. I waited for it to load, but got a BSOD .
Is there another way to uninstall Mcafee?
Also, the computer has been able to start up better after it's had a long time to cool off. If I try booting it up right away it keeps rebooting. So could it be a hardware failure like a RAM chip or something else? I did clean it out when it started acting up to remove dust and filth from around the fan and elsewhere.
I did manage to run a chkdsk /r and it seemed to come out OK. There was a BSOD on rebooting after it was done, however.
