Hi -
Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the program (Norton) yet ??
The rootkit may have corrupted or deleted some of the files from your Norton - This is not uncommon -
Thank You -

Are you sure you are completely clean after the rootkit infection?

CalusBlade, please finish up in your log topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/310122/google-redirect-virus/

Just because you don't get the redirect doesn't mean the problem is entirely solved (as evidence by your inability to update Norton). You need to finish up with myrti, and let her know you're having problems updating Norton.
