My CD Writer won't recognize blank. Any ideas on correcting this problem would be appreciated.

your cd-writer won't reconqnize blank cd's? If thats what you meant, then try reinstalling the drivers for the cd-rw or roll back to the old drivers if you had just updated to new ones.

Is this a new cd burner?
If its old,how old? -reason being the lasers(that burn the code to the cd) on old burners tend to burn out
Was it ever able to create cd's?
What type of burner is it?
Does it have a problem with recognizing non-blank media? ie: software cd
