all of a sudden the sound on my ipod 30 gig cuts out. the screen still works and the song is stil playing. i can even pause the song and change playlists, but there is just no sound. i have to hold the middle and top buttons down to reset it and then it works fine. its not the head phones, because i have tried a few different pairs. now this doesnt happen all the time not even once a day its just random....any ideas?

thanks guys

this is a "bump" but i also went to an ipod site and im still waiting for a response, maybe it's just not a common problem i don't know. i called apple and they suggested that i upgrade to a touch. jackasses....they were no help. im sure they could of been, but they just wanted to sucker me in.

how do i restore itunes and how will that help? do i just restore itunes then just plug in my ipod? i dont use i tunes a lot. i already have somewhere around 100 playlists on my ipod so i dont buy music as much as i used to. and i didnt purchase all of my music a lot of it came from cd's that i already had, but ive used things like media monkey and winamp to add songs not just itunes. i dont even think that my ipod is registered to my itunes. nothing illegal going on it is my ipod and it is my computer just dont think its registered thats all.

thank you
