I turned on my PC yesterday after being away for a few days and started getting a variety of pop-up AntivirusXP alerts saying that my PC is infected with various trojans worms etc. I ran Avir AntiVir personal which says that I have 5 hidden files but doesn't detect a virus. I tried to run MBAM, but it won't run - probably prevented from running by the malware.

I'd appreciate some advice
