I have a Gateway Vista and I would like to know how to reset it to the factory setting, when we first got it. I want everything to be deleted because i have a couple viruses that are affecting it.

My emachines, produced by the same co. that makes Gateway, came equipped with an OS disk. To reset it to factory condition I suppose I would simply insert the DVD and reboot.

Your Gateway should have recovery partition. Press F11 at Gateway logo.
Be aware, all your data will be lost.
