I was then directed to a website offering free download of Antispyware Soft (it looked very convincing) I researched it and discovered that it was actually a virus (malware).
I looked around and found out how to remove it (i thought)
several forums had suggested taht I:
restart cpu, go to Boot Menu, select my harddrive, then run in Safe Mode with Networking. Once the cpu started up, I ran Malwarebytes and found 1 infec ted file, i "fixed" it and then restarted in normal mode--this seemed to fix the whole problem...but.
I restarted my cpu about 4 hours later and when it powered up the virus (or whatever it is) was back stronger than ever.
This virus will NOT allow me to open, run, install, unintall or alter any files or software. Each time I try to access iTunes or Word or even run a program like HiJack This, it pops up a window stating that the "Application cannot be executed. The file is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"
Also, Now I'm getting a lot of pop-ups and window opening for Porn sites, Viagra online and other nonsense.
I also have a seperate issue of being redirected every time I click on a link in a Google search.
For example: If I google San Fransisco Giants, get the results and then click on the offical Giants team site, I will be redirected to a ticket purchasing system, or and advertisement for cell phone service in San Fran, etc.
I don't know if these two are related--but after some research I understand that this issue is called having your cpu "hijacked" so, not sure what to do.
I will post the DDS.txt as well as the Attach.txt and 2 Hijack This analysis files
I downloaded Advanced System care, Avast, Spybot, Malwarebytes and Spyware Doctor, but can't run the EXE files to install them (the virus keeps blocking me from running any install or software.
Thanks for your help, and please ask me anything that might help you to troubleshoot these problems
