Everytime I start the laptop, Dell Inspiron 9400 XP SP3, I get infected. I run Dr. Web to eradicate it.

I think I should restore my laptop to its initial state. Dell has a partition that I can execute to restore it ( CTL + F11 ). Do I need to reformat? If I reformat entire drive, will this remove that partition or should I go to Dell forum to ask that?

If I do not reformat entire drive, why would the infection still be there?

Thanks.
