wdfmgr.exe - virus?

I saw wdfmgr.exe process as a virus on bleeping computer. I have it running on my pc. So is it really a virus or is it a part of windows? Please tell me what this process does.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. You could upload the file to http://www.virustotal.com/ and see what the verdict is for sure.

It looks like it usually a legitimate file used by Windows Media Player. Anyone else know for sure?

By default, the wdfmgr.exe file is located within the C:\WINDOWS\system32

If its there its fine
