I'm trying to restore my PC from an external hard drive. I am booting from the Vista disk and selecting complete pc restore. It tells me it can not find any backups, when selecting advanced to try to find another location it does not recognize that I have an external drive. This is confusing me!!!!!! When I boot up the computer normally, the drive is there and I can explore it. The external drive is a western digital my book. How can I force the Complete pc restore to recognize the external drive????

Do you have all your drivers installed and updated?
