I use windows XP. Since yesterday evening everytime I turn on my computer, everytime I click on my firefox icon and sometimes when I am changing from one internet page to another the following message pops up.

Firefox.exe- Bad Image
The application or DLL C: \PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~2\GOEC62~1 DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation deskette.

I have no idea what this means.

I actually found this site by googling the message which pops up. I believe someone called "unbalance" has had a similar problem.

The person who helped him asked him to follow the following instructions:

* Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
* Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
* Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
* Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized).

I have done this. I have both the log.txt and the info.txt

What do I do now??

Thank you for your help

Welcome bannor02 -

Do you have Malwarebytes from here or SuperAntiSpyware from here -
If you don't please download and update them - Then run a Quick Scan with them and check your results -

Thanks -

thanks noknojon, I downloaded superantispyware, I scanned my computer and it found five dodgy things.

When I logged back on to bleeping computer I clicked on my topics, I clicked on replies and the same message came up.

Firefox.exe- Bad image etc.

It never stops a page from loading but it is extremely annoying and I think it is getting worse.

I have also noticed that my internet connection is slower.

What should I do with the results from my scan with superantispyware? Delete them?

Hello again

I think it's worked. Deleted the dodgy files, restarted the computer and the bad image message has not popped up so far.

thanks again,

Can you post those log files from MBAM and SAS?
