I have been using spybot search n destroy since it was recomended to me
by this site months ago.
A couple of weeks ago it wouldn't update...it started n' downloaded the updates
then said the update wasnt successful something about "badsum" or something.

I uninstalled it finally n' downloaded it again....it is still having the same problem...
now it says I can't run it until I update and when I try to update I get the "badsum"

Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.

You may need to change where you are getting updates from. The same thing happened to me just know when I tried downloading updates. After trying several sources, this one worked for me:

Downloaded update info file. (http://www.safer-networking.org/updates/spybotsd.ini)

You can change the source by using the icon just to the right of "search for updates" and a drop down menu will show available sites.
