I have been infected with the security tool virus. I am following your instructions on removing the virus, but I am stuck on #5. I have copied the rkill.com file as instructed (had to load it to desktop from flash drive because it wouldn't download via Internet), but I can't get it to run. When I double click on it, it gives me an error that appears on screen for less than a second. It appears to say "unkwnown error occurred. The program will be terminated." I left the security tool pop-ups on screen as directed and did it multiple times, but rkill.com just won't run. What do I do? If I can't get past this step, it appears I can't continue with the other instructions.

Try this with RKill.... download iExplore.exe or eXplorer.exe, which are renamed copies of rkill.com, and try them instead.

Do not reboot your computer after running rkill as the malware programs will start again.

If that fails try rebooting and press F8 choose safe mode run rkill using admin user rights to kill any malware running security tool i cleaned last week from a machine and that variant didn't run in safe mode so was able to install mbam and then boot into safe mode with networking to update definitions.

Do what you have been instructed to do if you go into safe mode from the moderators.
