Hey,

I have this .avi file on my computer that I want to DELETE! The thing is right-clicking or pressing F2 (to rename) - there is no freeze/slow-down in this process... but when I rename or try to delete the file (delete button - then press yes, drag to recycle box, right-click then delete then yes) - then that window just freezes. You can do other applications in the computer etc... but that window freezes and does not change. I tried opening another window to see if that file has changed names/been deleted (without closing the frozen window) and the file is still untouched there

NO program is using that file I am 100% positive on this (almost 100%) and it is not an incomplete file... I can delete everything else and any other types of files of my computer

Any ideas?

Download, and install Unlocker: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
Restart computer.
It'll install under right click menu.

Open Windows Explorer.
Navigate to offending folder/file.

Right click on a folder/file. Click Unlocker
Select Delete from drop-down menu:

Click OK.
A folder/file will refuse to be deleted, but Unlocker will give you an option to delete on reboot:

Click Yes.
Restart computer.
