It's still all screwed up. I don't know how to get you a copy of the page or whatever.

Looking at the address bar, I think it was the work of some jerks at a site I went to when I didn't have my browser adequately protected.

Now what?

Dang.

Thanks

Hi idjutt

Download and install SpywareBlaster: here.
A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using SpywareBlaster to protect your computer from Spyware, Hijackers, and Malware

Download and install Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option. This will provide realtime spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an antivirus software.

A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:
Using Spybot - Search & Destroy to remove Spyware , Malware, and Hijackers

Download Ad-aware SE: here
Install it. When you get the last screen, with the "Finish" button and 3 options, uncheck those three items.
Open AdAware and click the "Check for updates now" link. Close AdAware. Don't use it yet.

Please run HijackThis! and post a new log.
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?

I already have Ad-aware 1.5 and run it all the time, though all I ever do is delete critical and negligible objects. Is there a way to BLOCK any of them from returning?
Have Spybot as well, though it never seems to find anything.
Downloading blaster now.
Here's the log.

I still have the Firefox download from last night and have not turned off system restore.

Thanks Borg. ;-)

Hi idjutt,

I don't see anything suspect in your log. Ad-Aware has done a good job.

Is there a way to BLOCK any of them from returning?

You can increase your browsing safety and block pop-up windows in your browser: Internet Explorer

Have you installed SpywareBlaster and Spybot Search & Destroy ?
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?

Well, my log shows Spybot and I just downloaded Blaster.

I do NOT have a problem with IE.

The problem is with the FIREFOX browser-IT'S been hijacked.

I just deleted it all and re-downloaded to see if the blaster does any good.

Here goes :flowers: .......

HOLY MOLY!

Think that Blaster may have done it!

So far so good!

Thanks guys..for now hehehe :trumpet:

Have you installed a bad extension for FireFox ?
SpywareBlaster will offer a good protection agains bad ActiveX in Internet Explorer. I belive you need extra protection, for example MVPS Hosts file: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?
