I had to reinstall my Vista OS. I backed up several folders in an external hard disk, applications and downloads. Now I have many duplicates and is difficult to find all of them. Is there any tool that I can run and do that job for me?

Take a look here: http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/duplicate-file-finder/

Thanks a lot, Animal. Itīs a great tool!

Is it safe to check EVERYTHING showed?, or leave one of the duplicates. What I mean is, are all items duplicates or there is the good one and the duplicate. Sorry if I sound confusing, but first I thought all of the items showed were duplicates only and there was one left out of the list still on the PC, so you could get rid of the whole bunch.

I've used Auslogics for a couple of years. It is great tool.

NO, it is not safe to remove everything which shows up. You will need to keep at least ONE of them.

Auslogics Duplicate File Finder cannot distinguish which ones are the "good or original ones" and which ones are the duplicates.

If you have not already discovered this, you can click on the name of the file OR the path string to see the file or image.
