The only thing that I can think of that this started with, was this morning when I downloaded limewire to check it out. Since then these pop up windows have taken over and now my computer is starting to freeze and crash. There were originally about 5-6 different windows that would pop up. My screen would go dim then the window would pop up saying that you have a virus, click here to get a free scan and get it removed. I never clicked on them except to exit them or cancel them. The main one was called digital protection...I tried to remove it but it always came back. It kept trying to load and scan and I would have to exit out...every 30 second or so a window would pop up.
Here is what I have done so far:
I downloaded spyware doctor, but it wanted money to remove what it found. Uninstalled that.
I downloaded spybot search and destroy...it seemed to find a few things but not changing the pop ups.
downloaded Malwarebyte but it wouldn't get through a complete scan without rebooting the computer. I did a quick scan and removed some stuff. Then I did some complete scans only I would remove stuff mid-scan and reboot and do it again, trying to get what it found.
Then I did the Highjack This and made a report.
I ran the ATF cleaner from the desk top, not from safe mode or at the start up.
I downloaded Super-anti-spyware. It did the same thing as the malwarebyte. It couldn't get through a complete scan, so I would stop mid scan and remove things, then reboot and do it again.
I did the DDS reports and have been trying to do the GMER report. But again, it can't get through the whole thing before the computer freezes, goes black and I have to manually restart. I tried this four times. so I do not have a completed GMER.
So whatever I have has damaged my operating system and is in there deep.
Several times right before the crashes an error message came up that said something like, there is an error in your system and you need to restart and it would automatically shut down and reboot.
I'm not getting quite so many pop windows, but down on the lower tool bar of the desktop there is little messages that say I have a trojan or my passwords are being downloaded. I 'X' out of them...but they pop up later.
So, my computer is compromised, my system is failing and I don't know that all the malware is removed.
Please, please help me.
Thank you for your time,
