Is it possible to store images or maybe programs into a 700MB, 80 MIN CD-R?

You can store images and program's installation files on CDs.
You can't store programs themselves, because programs have to installed.
Keep in mind, that CDs don't last forever, so it's not 100% reliable storage media.
You'd do much better with an external hard drive.

Live CDs store programs that do not require installation as can USB thumb drives. Both media are used to run entire operating system without altering
a systems current OS in any way other than setting the computer to boot from an optical drive or USB thumb drive.

Programs could be installed on a CD-RW.
To Err is human; to really foul things up requires a Bleeping Computer!
