I'm doing a little snooping around in my computer,(windows 7 home premium 64) and found that some won't things
open because of XLM or lack of. Is there a cure for this and/or a need for this.

Possible results for XLM

Are you sure you don't mean XML, Layback Bear?

What "snooping" have you done and what things won't open?

Thanks for getting back. I could be XML because I don't do games. I was trying to open a error log on my computer. I will see if I can find it again.

Some error logs weren't necessarily meant to be read by human eyes. And they may take special decoding to turn into readable text.

XML files typically open in Internet Explorer unless you change the default program, but you can't edit them unless you open them in Word or Notepad or something like that.

Your errors will be listed in the Event Viewer, so I don't see why you were trying to open an error log file.

I was trying to open it because I found it, no other reason.
