I have an older laptop with Windows ME. We just recently got a wireless router from our phone company. So, I'm wondering if my laptop is to old to make it wireless. Also, the laptop was never used for the internet so I don't have virus protection. Is there any way to get virus protection for Windows ME?

Thanks to all.

Well the old avast should work fine(unless it is not updated no more).

If the laptop has a port(I think its called pc mia or some thing , sorry i cant remember) then you may find a wireless adapter some where that gives Windows ME drivers

I wondered about getting a coupler for my router to my WinME computer but I never got around to it.

As for a good anti-virus as starcraftmaster has said I would recommend Avast! Home Edition 4.8.1368, thats the last version what works on Win9x/ME I use on my WinME.

starcraftmaster is on the right track, its a pcmcia slot and it needs a ,pcmcia wireless device ,but you will have to watch out for ver 1.1 and 2.0 compatibility .older laptops only have a 1.1 or something like that ,slot and will not work newer cards .seepcmcia card on ebay

Before you buy a card, make sure you have done ample research to verify that there are drivers for the card and that they work with Windows ME.
