Hi, I hope that someone can help me remove Hotspot Shield from my pc. I am running Windows 7. I downloaded some program and it installed this Hotspot Shield and it is taking over my computer. I can't download anything. It won't let me on the download sites. Other sites are OK. I tried to use System Restore but the program completely stopped it from running. I have tried Spy Bot, Kaspersky, MalWare Bytes. I ran Ccleaner. None of these programs thinks that I have something bad. I searched Google and they said to check with Msconfig and regedit and I found a few mentions of Hotspot Shield in regedit and I removed them. Nothing worked the hotspot shield still came on. It must be in a code or something.
There is nothing to uninstall as I see nothing in Program files or in Add and Remove in the control panel. There is no tool bar.

I went to HiJackThis and I did what they said. I saw no mention of Hotspot Shield there either. I also used Revo uninstaller and OTL. I don't really understand all these programes and I am afraid of screwing up the computer more.

I hope that you can help me as I sure don't want to format. Thank you very much for reading this and I appreciate anything that you can do to help. I feel so helpless

Thanks again, Linda Fisher
