I was listening to my ipod, a 2nd generation shuffle, when I heard a weird blip sound and then it stopped working. I thought the battery died, but normally when the battery dies the on/off light blinks red, but there was no light what so ever even though it was on. So then I plugged it in to charge, and it wouldn't charge. I hooked it up to my computer but nothing happened.

Is my ipod dead? Please any advice on what to do? Should I take it to the apple store? I'm so upset I LOVE my shuffle

If this doesn't work, then I'd say its dead too. Take it to the Apple store.

On an extended break.

Oops. I didn't check the date. x__x This forum doesn't move as fast as the rest apparently. =)

I'd have liked to know how the OP solved the problem.

On an extended break.

I recently had this problem, my IPod wouldn't turn on. I tried charging thinking it was just out of juice but no dice. My computer wouldn't see it either when I plugged it in. Thought I was out of luck and going to have to repair or get new one but turned out I just had to reset it. I thought I would share so people could at least try that out before moving on to more drastic steps as I was about to do. Instructions are easy enough to find for your specific IPod on the apple site.
