Good Day All,

I am working on a clients PC and figured out pretty quickly that this system is infected with the W32 Patched.L trojan. This was as reported by Windows Security Essentials. It was unable to clean it so in perusing google, I discovered bleepingcomputer. I ignored the advice and ran combofix following the generic user guide. I didn't wait for help as I have the flexibility to wipe this system if things go toes up.

It just completed spitting out the log file and no sooner did it do that than WSE spit out another warning about the aforementioned virus. I will now defer to others more seasoned than I in resolving this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
John

EDIT: Moved from XP to Malware Removal Logs ~ Hamluis.
EDIT: And now moved to AII as it seems the log has been removed ~BP

Hello,

Hello,

That request about NOT posting CF logs is primarily to keep people from running the program unsupervised.

Please read this topic: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/273628/combofix-usage-questions-help-look-here/ which explains that reasoning further.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Since you have run ComboFix, please include the ComboFix log in the new topic.

If you cannot produce any of the other logs, then please create the new topic anyway, include the information that you were unable to produce the other logs and why and include the ComboFix log along with a description of your computer issues.
