Computer Restarting Improperly?

Hey I've had a slight problem for a while now. This problem consist of my computer and the restart process. When I select to restart my computer in anyway, it shuts down but will not start up again. I have absolutely no apparent reason why this happens. The one thing I do remember is, it restarted properly just before I downloaded my SP2. I've tried mostly everything to fix this. If there is a solution or a similar problem, can someone please inform me :D. Thanks alot for taking your time to read my post CIAO :thumbsup:

P.S. this has resulted in always shutting my computer down, and then starting it back up by power button :flowers:
