Yesterday we somehow downloaded that horrible Antivirus XP program with the warning boxes constantly popping up. It seems to be gone(no more boxes or fake security warnings) - I think I may have taken care of it by running Malwarebytes. I also ran Avast antivirus(free version). Maybe it's a coincidence, but since then Mozilla Firefox freezes up every 10 secs or so and stays frozen for perhaps a half minute, maybe longer. IE runs fine, everything else on the PC runs fine.

Any ideas on what I can do?

I have File Assasin and Hijack This on my PC(from a different Firefox problem in the past) if that would help with a diagnosis.

EDIT: Moved from XP to Am I Infected, more appropriate forum ~ Hamluis.
