I was downloading the awesome new VS2010 ISO from the dreamspark site this afternoon and I realized that thier was no .ISO file on the desktop like there should be. I got frustrated and had to start it over on my WinXP computer. I have had this problem with Win Vista and Win 7, is their a setting that it's not liking? I am about to download something else tomorrow and would like it if it would work on the first shot and I don't have to fire the WinXP computer again.
If I am helping you and I do not respond within 24 hours, please send me a PM. :)

Are you absolutely sure that you told it to save it to the desktop?

What browser are you using?

Yes even with the show known file extensions unchecked there should still be a file called VS2010.

Try the search feature on the start menu.

Yep I am absolutly sure it is set to save to desktop but it is not there. I get the start download manager icon and that's it. No file is found under what the download manager sais it is being saved as. I am using ie for these specific downloads.

If I understand correctly, you didn't let the download finish. It could have been being downloaded in multiple parts under temp names and would be joined together as a complete file on the desktop when the download was completed.

Perhaps it has something to do with the site you are downloading from. I don't know how they manage their downloads, as I have never used Dreamspark before. Can you download things from other websites with no trouble or do all downloads "disappear"?

Trying using a different browser.

If its Visual studio 2010 you are trying to download, here is the Express edition from Microsoft.
