My PC didn't come with a recovery disc, so I tried using my friend's instead. The problem is, I had Home Basic, whereas he has Premium. Now my Compaq is listed as a Dell and I can't enter my product key due to the version differences. What can I do to resolve this?
You Still Have The Choice Of Installling Home Basic over The Premium install , if you are just looking for a serial no one will give it. You coluld download a NON ACTIVATED ISO off a torrent site or request a CD off compaq. The Dell & Compaq have no influence on if the product key works.
