I am running XP and my computer is doing a couple of weird things. I attempted to download and install the SP3 from microsoft, and after I did it IE 8 would not connect to the internet. Cut the firewall off, ran basic dial up settings, nothing would work. I got tired of that and used a previous restore point to return to previous state and after that it would connect to the internet.
Also, running Webroot antivirus/antispyware, but it will not connect so I can update the virus definitions.

In short...connectivity seems negatively impacted following any software update.

Questions-How do i get this computer to connect after IE 8 updates, and connect to the antivirus software servers?

Thanks in advance.
