Hello jonwon and welcome to BC.

When you insert the disk, go to Start>Run and click Browse. In the box that opens up, use the dropdown arrow at the side of the Look in: box to select your CD drive. Once there you should see a file called setup or install or some such. Click that, click Open and ok again. This should start the installation program.

What is "Quick Link" and is that a seperate question?

You did not indicate what operating system you have. Regardless, you can go to this HP web site for HP Deskjet 840c Printer Software & Driver downloads. Be sure to follow the installation instructions on the web page that is displayed after you first select your operating system and then click on the "full feature" download option. I suspect that what you have is not the full set of software for this printer, since the download from the HP web site will be about 8 megabytes (or roughly 7 diskettes worth of data). Therefore, I suspect that you have a driver disk, with an .INF file, etc. on it, which is intended to be used (installed) in a very different manner than the first reply to your message indicated or the software that you will download from the HP web site.
