Any attempt to connect to the internet may be randomly sent to some other address, or simply denied access at all. Any attempts to connect to virus software update URLs fails 100 percent of the time, as do any attempts to download Microsoft Windows updates. Windows Live Instant Messaging randomly fails, but sometimes works. With browser redirection, sometimes hitting BACK will take me to the correct URL, as if I have been sent past it. Other times, this option is not available.

I don't know when this infection occurred, but it seems to have gone active on April 1st. I don't know where I got it, but I suspect Facebook Mafia Wars or some related app. I don't know that for certain, though.
