Hi there,

so I recently was infected with the XP Security or XP Defender virus. It kept popping up, so I ran Ad-Aware and AVAST and removed the virus, (I think) but it had done something to my registry files. I was unable to open anything. My .exe files wouldn't work, I could open CMD by running command.com, and I could right click on some programs and click "start" to run them, but otherwise it wasn't working.

I ran AVG, Ad-Aware, and STINGER, and nothing worked, but they couldn't find any more infections, so I disabled everything and ran Combo Fix.

It's working now, but I want to make sure that I have really cleared everything out.

Any advice?
