does anyone know any diag software for a toshiba hdd i went to their site and found none i also went thru the tutoral at the beginning of this topic no luck there either am i just sol thanks in advance

As far as I know, Toshiba doesnt have any diagnostic tools for hard drives.

Try Maxtor's diagnostic tool.

The current version of SeaTools for Windows will also check other drives. I haven't any Toshiba drives but I have tested Samsung and Hitachi drives with it.

Another possible option: Free version of Hard Disk Sentinel.

I am sure Toshiba has no any diagnostic tool for cleanup remaining memory for the further use. So how could you found that. Not at all.
