First, I want to say that I am very desparate about my problem and if you guys can help me solve it, I will be really grateful and would be more than happy to make a donation.
So, here it is, my story.
I purchased a Dell XPS 16 laptop a month and a half ago. I love the laptop, here are the specs:
Studio XPS 16 (1645)
Processor: Intel® Coreâ„¢ i7-720QM Quad Core Processor 1.6GHz (2.8GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
Memory 6GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz
Monitor Full HD Widescreen 15.6 inch WLED LCD (1920x1080) W/2.0 MP
Video Card ATI Mobility RADEON® HD 4670 – 1GB
Hard Drive 500GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
System Color Obsidian Black High Gloss Finish
OS Genuine Windows WIN ® 7 Ultimate Edition with XP Mode
It was performing quite well except for one problem.
At any time, without any notable reason, my system would freeze. Nothing can be done except a power off. I do not get an error message or a blue screen. The mouse is frozen.. i can still hear the fan running but thats it
After doing some hardware tests on the laptop with the Dell support team (hard drive, memory), no error came along.
So they sent me a brand new laptop, which is identical to the 1st one except it has 2 more gigs of memory (8gb).
After 2 days, the freezing problem happened again.
Now I am totally clueless as to what is causing this. I updated the video card drivers but it didnt help.
Just so you know, sometimes it freezes as it reboots, just before it gets to the windows logon screen. Sometimes, it can freeze at the logon screen when ive been away for a little while. Some other times, it can also happen while I'm doing anything, totally normal stuff like surfing the net and what not.
All in all, I would say that I get one of those freezing issue at least once or twice a day, even though sometimes it can be almost 48hrs without happening.
Please let me know what I can do so you can help me,
